The fall of Shelter Base and parts of the frontline required the Republic’s planetary blockade to dissolve and distribute forces to the ground. The Jabiimi started to whittle away at Republic emplacements on the frontline. But reports of the legendary leader, Stratus, had inspired the Nationalists. Both sides were losing troops with minimal advances. The campaign had been reduced to trench warfare.
